Lost Valley
December 14, 2003

Like many of our scenic areas, you need to make a trip to Lost Valley after all the leaves are off the trees to appreciate the magnitude of the terrain. Back in May when I visited for the first time, I only got a few glimpses of the towering bluffs to the North.
I made my second visit on a Sunday morning following a light snow. I was hoping for some pictures of snow-covered mountains in Boxley Valley, but the snow hadn't stuck to the trees and I didn't see anything that inspired me to stop and get out my camera.
There was maybe half an inch of snow in Lost Valley, but the sun came out soon after I started my hike and all the snow melted away by the time I left.
