Bridge Rock
September 21, 2003

I read about this short little trail in Shoal Bay Park in Tim Ernsts’s Arkansas Hiking Trails guidebook, and I had been waiting for the opportunity to go check it out with the boys. On our way home from Cove Lake we made a right instead of a left and headed toward the park. Once parked we made it down to the Bridge Rock in no time. We hung out there for a while then moseyed on down to a neat concrete boat landing on Shoal Creek. On the hike back uphill from there, somehow Cliff discovered the coolest undocumented feature of this trail - there is a fantastic echo from across the creek if you yell really loud. It’s the best echo I’ve ever heard. We stood there for 15 minutes yelling out ridiculous things then waiting for the echo!
